Turning a business critical policy challenge into lasting political influence

Client: Alertacall

Year: 2025-present

The Brief

Alertacall provides technology that helps housing providers support older and potentially vulnerable residents. Alertacall needed both immediate support with policy detail, and a longer term public affairs strategy.

We focused on building a public affairs programme that would give Alertacall influential advocates, strengthen its ability to shape policy and procurement conversations, and create relationships that could support commercial growth.

The Work

Inflect developed a sustained political engagement programme built around Alertacall Chief Executive James Batchelor’s expertise in technology, housing and support for older people.

We identified and engaged relevant MPs, ministers, policymakers and sector leaders, combining national advocacy with targeted constituency engagement and site visits. We built James’ profile and established relationships with MPs and Ministers.

At the centre of the programme was a Westminster roundtable bringing together politicians, housing leaders, health and ageing organisations and other influential stakeholders. Inflect managed political outreach, stakeholder recruitment, briefing materials, event logistics, strategic seating and post event engagement.

Alongside this, Inflect continued to support Alertacall on live policy and regulatory issues, building relationships that helped the business move from reactive crisis management towards a more proactive approach.

The Impact

Our work left Alertacall in what the client described as a materially stronger position.

The programme created a network of senior political and sector relationships around the business. The meetings and events that we delivered positioned Alertacall as a key stakeholder in decision making on housing technology issues. James’ reputation has been strengthened through exposure to editorial, panel events and 1-1 meetings.
