The Trade Association Forum initially engaged Inflect to undertake a membership engagement exercise to underpin the development of a new strategy, but it quickly became apparent that a greater degree of intervention was required.
Inflect assumed the running of TAF, with Emily Wallace becoming Interim CEO and Harry Shackleton taking on the role of Commercial Director. Since then, three more members of the team have joined the TAF team, with Aoife Doherty as Head of Marketing and Events, Jade Goodall as Membership Executive, and Sean Codrington as Public Affairs Lead.
Alongside a renewed Board, Inflect instigated a turnaround programme for TAF – relaunching the member offer, delivering a successful and revenue-raising events programme, refreshing its corporate partnerships and delivering a renewed work programme.
This work has led to a significant leap in member acquisition and retention, renewed work programmes delivering value to more people at all levels of the UK association community and lots of exciting plans for the future.
TAF’s membership is now stable, the association has stronger relationships across Government and new strategic partnerships, including the CBI
and there is record levels of attendance and commercial performance at flagship events.
TAF is now in a robust financial position. Working with members, non-member trade associations and trade association suppliers, the Inflect team has developed a five-year strategy, which is now being delivered.
As Chair of the Trade Association Forum, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Inflect and have seen the real difference they make. They are far more than an efficient Secretariat; they are a trusted partner who genuinely understands the trade association sector and the importance of collaboration, good governance and member value.
Their professionalism, responsiveness and attention to detail ensure TAF operates effectively, while their proactive approach helps keep us focused on the issues that matter most to our members. They consistently go above and beyond, bringing insight, energy and a genuine commitment to helping TAF succeed.
The support Inflect provides has been instrumental in strengthening our work and enabling TAF to continue growing its influence and relevance. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any organisation looking for a knowledgeable, dependable and highly professional Secretariat partner.
